Cherie is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Nevada, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland and offers telehealth sessions across all four states. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and brings a clinical background in trauma and child therapy, built around behavioral issues in academic settings, mood disorders, and trauma across adolescents, and adults.
Her Approach
Cherie works with clients 16 years of age and older, including teens and adults. For younger clients, that often means a child whose behavior at school has become the loudest problem in the house, but whose real story started somewhere earlier and harder. For parents, it frequently means not knowing what is happening with their child or how to help once they get home.
She works from a strength-based perspective, which in practice means she looks at what a client already knows how to do and builds from there. She draws from somatic, DBT, Brainspotting, and trauma-focused methods depending on what the person in front of her needs. Clients from marginalized communities who have felt dismissed or misunderstood in other clinical settings consistently find her direct, culturally aware, and easy to be honest with.
