Amira King is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Las Vegas who specializes in untangling the effects of trauma, particularly attachment wounds and codependency patterns. Trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Amira works with clients from age 5 through older adulthood who are ready to address how past experiences continue to shape their present relationships and self-perception.
Amira’s practice stands out for her work with communities often underserved by traditional therapy: LGBTQ+ individuals, people in non-monogamous and open relationships, the kink community, veterans, and single mothers. She brings a sex-positive, body-positive framework that doesn’t pathologize alternative lifestyles or relationship structures.
Beyond EMDR, Amira integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS) for working with conflicting internal parts, DBT skills for emotional regulation, and ACT for values-based living. She treats complex cases including personality disorders and psychotic disorders, not just typical anxiety and depression.
Amira earned her MSW from UNLV in 2022 and has built her practice around clients who need a therapist who gets it—whether “it” is navigating polyamory while healing from trauma, managing PTSD as a veteran, or parenting while working through your own attachment history.
