Melissa earned her Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University and has practiced since 2025 as a Clinical Professional Counselor Intern in Nevada under supervision. As a teen anxiety therapist in Nevada, she focuses on adolescents and teens working through anxiety, depression, and moments of crisis.
Her Approach
Melissa works with children as young as six through the teenage years. A parent might bring in a ten-year-old who melts down over homework every night, or a fifteen-year-old who has stopped answering texts from friends and spends most days in her room. Sessions are one-on-one, and she pays attention to what is happening at home and at school as much as what happens in the room.
In session, Melissa asks direct questions and gives kids room to answer in their own words, whether that means talking, drawing, or working through a problem step by step. She draws on family systems therapy to understand how a teen’s stress connects to what is happening at home, and adjusts her approach based on each client’s cultural background. Clients leave with something concrete: a script for a hard conversation, a plan for a stressful morning, or a way to name what they are feeling.
