Marie earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1997 and holds active LCSW licenses in Nevada and Arizona. She has practiced as a licensed clinical social worker for 25 years, focusing primarily on trauma and relationship issues across a wide range of clinical environments.
Her Approach
You may have been in therapy before, or tried to work through things on your own, and still find yourself cycling through the same reactions with a partner or replaying memories you thought you had put behind you. That is often exactly where Marie’s clients are when they first reach out. She works with adults and older adults, individually and with their partners, around trauma, relationship patterns, and alcohol and substance use.
She draws primarily on EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, moving between them based on what a session calls for. With Marie, sessions tend to be direct and structured without being rigid. She will ask specific questions, name what she is observing, and stay close to what is happening for you. Clients often describe feeling like the work is real from early on.
Specialized Training

Marie has also practiced across hospital, correctional, military, and community mental health settings over the course of her 25-year career.
Additional Certifications
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a protocol-based method for trauma processing using bilateral stimulation to help clients reduce the distress attached to specific memories.
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a structured approach for working with PTSD that focuses on identifying and shifting beliefs formed as a result of trauma.
