Joshua holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada, completed in 2012, and has been licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Nevada since 2022. His clinical work focuses on addiction, substance use, dual diagnosis, and grief across adults and elders, with a particular interest in men’s mental health and the emotional weight that often goes unaddressed in that population.
His Approach
Joshua works with adults and older adults. For many of his clients, substance use or addictive behavior is not the starting point but the response to something else, whether that is chronic pain, grief, a relationship that fell apart, or years of stress that never had anywhere to go. He spent time in rural communities, which shaped an ability to connect with people from backgrounds that don’t always feel represented.
He works primarily through a person-centered and motivational lens, which means sessions are built around what the client wants to change. He brings particular attention to men navigating issues they have never said out loud before, including self-worth, relationship conflict, and the kind of slow-building stress that tends to get dismissed until it becomes a crisis.
