Jennifer Deas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing across Nevada, Georgia, and Virginia with a clear focus: mental health care for people who’ve been left out. As a Black therapist, Jennifer works primarily with people of color and underserved communities who need more than generic therapy—they need someone who understands how racism, poverty, and systemic barriers shape mental health.
Jennifer earned her BSW from UNLV and MSW from Walden University in 2017. Her work across private and public sectors has shown her the gap between what communities need and what they can access. She specializes in trauma, PTSD, grief, depression, and anxiety for adults, using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and schema therapy to address beliefs formed under oppression.
Her approach is strength-based and culturally sensitive—recognizing that survival in marginalized communities requires skills that shouldn’t be pathologized. She provides affirming care to sex workers, LGBTQ+ individuals, the kink community, veterans, and single mothers. She also supervises social workers pursuing licensure.
If you’re looking for a therapist who centers racial justice and understands that your mental health doesn’t exist separate from the world you navigate, Jennifer brings that perspective.
