Dr. Amanda de Armas earned her Doctor of Clinical Psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico and holds a PsyPact license, allowing her to practice across multiple states via telehealth. She has been providing psychotherapy since 2020, with a primary clinical focus on eating disorders, mood disorders, and the intersection of family dynamics and mental health. She conducts sessions in both English and Spanish.
Dr. de Armas’s Approach
Dr. de Armas works with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults who feel caught in patterns they can’t seem to break on their own. Some are overwhelmed by thoughts that won’t slow down. Others have spent years feeling like they are not doing enough, not being enough, and are tired of it. She works with clients who are ready to engage, not just talk, and who want to leave sessions with something concrete they can use.
She brings warmth and a problem-solving sensibility to her work, and clients tend to open up because she listens before she directs. She draws from CBT, ACT, DBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and CPT, choosing what fits the person in front of her. When words aren’t the right tool, especially with younger clients, she uses play and creative art.
She conducts sessions in both English and Spanish.
