Cherie holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, completed in 2022, and finished her clinical hours in 2024. She is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Nevada and Virginia. As a trauma and child therapist, her clinical work has focused on behavioral issues in academic settings, mood disorders, and trauma across children, adolescents, and adults.
Her Approach
Cherie works with children ages 6 and up, preteens, teens, and adults. For younger clients, that often means a child whose behavior at school has become the loudest problem in the house, but whose real story started somewhere earlier and harder. For parents, it frequently means not knowing what is happening with their child or how to help once they get home.
She works from a strength-based perspective, which in practice means she looks at what a client already knows how to do and builds from there. She draws from Play Therapy, DBT, Brainspotting, and trauma-focused methods depending on what the person in front of her needs. Clients from marginalized communities who have felt dismissed or misunderstood in other clinical settings consistently find her direct, culturally aware, and easy to be honest with.
