Nancy O’Connor is a Clinical Social Work Intern in Nevada who specializes in medical trauma, infertility, perinatal mental health, and chronic illness.
She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2020 and holds certification in ADHD evaluation and treatment for children and adults.
Nancy works with people whose mental health struggles stem from medical experiences—infertility treatments that failed, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, NICU stays with critically ill newborns, postpartum depression and anxiety, and the ongoing stress of managing chronic or rare illnesses including cancer.
She understands that medical trauma doesn’t get the same recognition as other forms of trauma but can be equally devastating, especially when compounded by fear and loss of bodily autonomy.
Her ADHD certification allows her to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for teens and adults navigating neurodevelopmental challenges alongside medical issues.
Nancy also treats teens age 15 and older plus adults experiencing anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and trauma related to sexual abuse or gender dysphoria. She also provides support for parents managing their own mental health while caring for medically complex children and works with individuals navigating life transitions and the isolation that comes with chronic illness.
If you’re dealing with the psychological impact of medical trauma, fertility struggles, or managing a chronic illness while trying to maintain your mental health, Nancy offers specialized support that recognizes the unique challenges medical experiences create.
