Marquessa is an MFT Intern completing her supervised clinical training in Nevada, working with clients under licensed supervision as part of her professional development. She earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University Worldwide in 2021 and has been practicing since 2023, focusing on helping adults navigate trauma, anxiety, and the moments when life feels stuck or overwhelming.
Her Approach
Marquessa works with adults ages 20 to 64, including women managing anxiety or depression, individuals processing trauma or grief that was never fully addressed, and people trying to figure out what comes next after a major loss or life change. She also works with couples navigating relationship conflict and families where communication has broken down. Many of her clients are dealing with more than one thing at once: stress from work, tension at home, or patterns that keep repeating no matter how hard they try to change them.
Sessions with Marquessa are structured around what the client needs. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help clients understand the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and actions, and to build practical skills that work in daily life. As a Black therapist, she brings cultural awareness and understanding to her work with clients from diverse backgrounds, particularly Black and African American women who want a therapist who understands their lived experience. Clients describe her as someone who listens without judgment and helps them find clarity when everything feels overwhelming.
