Lori Insera is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience working with individuals, children, and families. She holds a Master of Science in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix and a Master’s in Human Service Administration from Buffalo State College. Licensed in Nevada and an Approved Supervisor for the state, she works with preteens through older adults. Her clinical focus spans trauma, family systems, relationships, and behavioral health — with deep roots in child welfare and the Queer community.
Her Approach
Lori works with preteens, teenagers, adults, and elders, individually and as families, across a wide range of racial and ethnic backgrounds. She has been actively involved with the Center of Las Vegas for years and has built deep ties within the local queer community, which means LGBTQ clients are not explaining their lives from scratch when they walk in.
Sessions with Lori are direct and structured around what is keeping you stuck. She works on a behavioral level first, addressing what the client can change in action, and moves toward cognition and underlying emotion when behavior alone is not enough to shift the pattern. She has the patience that comes from three decades of sitting with difficult material, and clients tend to find that she holds them to the work without making the process feel punishing.
