Karina is a Certified Professional Counselor Intern and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Nevada. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix, earned in 2022. Her clinical focus centers on anxiety, depression, co-occurring disorders, and the identity and relationship questions that often accompany major life transitions.
Her Approach
Karina works with teenagers and adults, including members of the LGBTQ+ community and clients from a wide range of racial and ethnic backgrounds. Her clients are often people managing more than one thing at once, substance use alongside depression, low self-worth alongside a relationship that no longer fits, or a life transition that arrived before they felt ready for it.
Sessions with Karina are structured around what the client actually wants to work on, not a predetermined path. She draws from CBT, DBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing, selecting what fits the person. She moves at a pace that gives clients room to think, and she is direct enough that people leave sessions knowing what they worked on and why.
