Lara is a PMHNP student completing her clinical rotations at Purdue Global under the supervision of licensed psychiatric nurse practitioners. She is gaining clinical experience working with clients across the full lifespan, from young children through older adults, including veterans navigating the mental health challenges that often accompany military service. Her training focuses on trauma-informed psychiatric care and understanding how stress affects mental and physical health.
Her Approach
Lara works with toddlers, children, preteens, teens, adults, and elders, including veterans and clients from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. Many of the people she sees are managing stress that has become overwhelming, trauma that continues to affect daily life, or mental health concerns that intersect with physical health challenges. She also works with families and couples when relationship dynamics are part of what needs attention.
Sessions with Lara draw from psychodynamic and trauma-focused approaches. As an Asian American provider, she brings cultural awareness to her work.
Her Clinical Training
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, completing supervised clinical rotations in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning across all age groups
- Trauma-Focused Care, training in recognizing how trauma affects mental health and providing care that supports healing
- Psychodynamic Approaches, learning to understand how past experiences and unconscious patterns shape current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
