Helping teens, adults, and older adults navigate trauma, chronic illness, and life transitions via telehealth in Nevada.
Brittany, in Brief?
Brittany Shaney is a CSWI Therapist holding a Master of Social Work from Chamberlain University and a Bachelor of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Born and raised in Reno, Nevada, she practices via telehealth in Nevada, working with teenagers, adults, and older adults individually and as couples. Her clinical focus is trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, disability, and major life transitions, approached through a trauma-informed, mind-body lens.
Who Brittany Works With
Maybe chronic pain or illness has taken over more of your life than you let on. Maybe something happened and you’re still working out who you are now. Or anxiety and depression have been around long enough that you’ve stopped thinking of them as problems to solve. You want someone who actually gets it, not someone you have to catch up to speed.
Brittany went through her own life-altering injury, and that experience shows up in her clinical work — in what she picks up on, in what she doesn’t need explained. She’s an LGBTQ+ affirming provider who works across a wide range of identities and backgrounds. Whoever you are, you can skip the preamble.
Where She’s Done the Work
- Adaptive Recreation, Reno, NV — Worked directly with veterans, adults with spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, and significant disabilities, helping them reconnect with sports, movement, and the outdoors.
- Special Education Paraprofessional — Supported students with autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, and behavioral challenges in classroom settings.
- Inpatient & Outpatient Clinical Settings — Gained experience across multiple care environments before and during her MSW training.
