Ashley Summers holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, completed in 2014, and practices as a Clinical Social Work Intern in Nevada under clinical supervision. As an anxiety therapist in Nevada working via telehealth, her clinical focus centers on self-esteem, life transitions, and the relational patterns that keep people stuck, including over-giving, self-doubt, and difficulty setting limits.
Her Approach
Ashley works with teens, adults, and older adults. Her clients often include people who have spent years being the one everyone else leans on, who are good at holding things together for those around them but have learned to dismiss what they themselves need. The anxiety they bring to sessions is often downstream of that pattern: the constant second-guessing, the dread of disappointing someone, the awareness that they have lost track of what they want.
Sessions with Ashley tend to be structured but not rigid. She draws from ACT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches, choosing what fits the issue in the room rather than working from a fixed formula. She practices from a sex-positive, body-positive stance and is fully affirming of LGBTQ+ clients, those in non-monogamous or kink-identified relationships, and people working through body image without shame. Clients in those communities consistently find that they do not need to spend the first several sessions explaining who they are before therapy can actually be useful.
