Reese Thomas-McDade is a Clinical Social Work Intern in Nevada under clinical supervision. He holds a Master of Social Work from Grand Canyon University, completed in 2025. As a men’s mental health therapist in Nevada working via telehealth, his clinical focus centers on anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, and the pressure that builds for men and adolescents in high-stakes environments.
His Approach
Reese works with preteens, teens, and adults. His clients are often young athletes and men who have built their sense of self around being capable and in control, and who are noticing something beginning to break down: the anger that surfaces too fast, the dread before a competition or a difficult conversation that has stopped being something they can manage, the widening distance between who they want to be and how they are actually showing up. Many have not looked for help before, and some have spent a long time convincing themselves they did not need it.
Sessions with Reese are structured and direct. He works from CBT as his primary framework, using it to help clients examine the thinking and behavior patterns behind their struggles, and draws from DBT and trauma-focused approaches when clients need practical tools for managing emotional intensity, high-pressure decisions, or the aftereffects of difficult experiences. His work is informed by an understanding of how race, culture, and identity shape what men and adolescents expect of themselves and what they allow themselves to feel.
