Monte is a CPC practicum student completing his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of the Cumberlands, working with clients under licensed supervision as part of his clinical training. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Washington State University and specializes in anxiety, drawing on his understanding of how life circumstances, relationships, and social context shape mental health.
His Approach
Monte works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, or the aftermath of trauma. He’s skilled with people trying to make sense of what happened to them, struggling with worry that feels overwhelming, or caught in patterns of coping that no longer work.
Monte brings thoughtful attention and respect into the work. He uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you understand the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and actions, and to build coping strategies that fit your life. He works at your pace and takes time to understand what matters most to you before moving forward.
His Clinical Training
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), learning to help clients identify thought and behavior patterns that keep them stuck and develop new ways forward
- Trauma-informed care, trained in understanding how trauma affects the nervous system and relationships
- Supervised clinical practice, gaining experience in individual counseling with adults navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions
