About

Lori Insera

Working with individuals, couples, and families on trauma, relationships, and life transitions via telehealth in Nevada.

Who Is Lori Insera?

Lori Insera is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience working with individuals, children, and families. She holds a Master of Science in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix and a Master’s in Human Service Administration from Buffalo State College. Licensed in Nevada and an Approved Supervisor for the state, she works with preteens through older adults. Her clinical focus spans trauma, family systems, relationships, and behavioral health — with deep roots in child welfare and the Queer community.

Who Lori Works With

Maybe your relationship has hit a wall that conversations alone haven’t moved. Maybe you’re a parent watching your child struggle and running out of ideas. Maybe something from your past — abuse, trauma, a system that failed you — is still showing up in your present, in ways you can name and ways you can’t. You’ve tried pushing through. It hasn’t been enough.

Lori has been doing this work for over 30 years and her approach reflects that. She’s direct and patient, which means she’ll meet you where you are and also hold you accountable to the change you said you wanted. She works from a strengths-based perspective, starting with what’s already working and building from there. If you’ve felt stuck in the past, that’s exactly the kind of thing she’s built her practice around.

Where She’s Done the Work

  • Child Welfare System — Extensive clinical work with children and families involved in child welfare, with a focus on trauma, reunification, and systemic barriers.
  • Approved Clinical Supervisor, Nevada — Recognized by the state to train and supervise licensed therapists — a designation that reflects both experience and clinical depth.
  • The Center of Las Vegas — Active involvement in one of Nevada’s primary LGBTQ+ community organizations, with a long-standing commitment to affirming, accessible care.
